2008 Las Vegas CenturyHere is what we propose for this year. ![]() October will be time once again for Perini Green Weekend, the construction industry’s charity fundraiser extravaganza. This year’s event kicks off with a Happy Hour on Friday October 10, at McCormick & Schmick's, which includes a live and silent auction, and live music performed by "333" featuring Sweet Al from KOMP radio. On the morning of Saturday, October 11, at the Paiute Resort, Perini will host a 5K run/walk, followed by a golf tournament at all three of Paiute’s courses, then on Sunday, the 12th, a new Metric Century Bicycle Ride followed by a motorcycle, classic car, sports car Poker Run. An awards party at Stoney's Rockin' Country Sunday afternoon again featuring live music will top off the weekend’s events. There will be lots of SWAG and additional prizes for largest team, most money raised by a team and by an individual. The always popular golf tournament is first pay, first play with openings for 432 players so early registration is recommended for this event. Last year Perini donated over $70,000 to Las Vegas Valley charities The Shade Tree Shelter and Teach for America. This year Perini created their own college scholarship fund and added the Las Vegas Paiute Education Committee to the list of beneficiaries. Their goal this year is $100,000.
